The basics
When your plan starts, your car must be:
- A car (not a van or other commercial vehicle) first registered less than 15 years ago
- Under 100,000 miles
- Petrol, diesel, hybrid or plug-in hybrid with an engine of up to 3.0 litres, or fully electric (any motor size)
- Up to date with its servicing (service history up to date at the start date)
- Kept in England, Scotland or Wales: plans aren’t available in Northern Ireland
The same prices apply to every eligible car: £449 for 2 years or £597 for 3 years.
Cars that need a quick quote
These aren’t covered by the standard plan, but we can quote for them separately. Call 020 3640 8108.
- Cars with an engine over 3.0 litres
- High-performance or sports models, for example Audi RS, BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Honda Type R and Nissan Nismo models
- Cars made by Alpina, Ariel, Caterham, Lotus, Morgan, Noble, Porsche and TVR
Cars we can’t cover
- Supercars and specialist makes, including Aston Martin, BAC, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Maserati, Maybach, McLaren, Pagani, Radical, Rolls-Royce and Westfield
- Taxis, private hire vehicles and minicabs, driving-school cars, short-term or self-drive hire cars, courier or delivery vehicles, and emergency services or military vehicles
- Cars used for racing, rallies, track days or other competitive events
- Cars modified from the manufacturer’s original specification (adaptations for disability or mobility are fine)
- Grey or personal imports not built to UK specification, and left-hand-drive cars
- Kit cars, motorhomes and campervans, vans and car-derived vans, and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes
- LPG or hydrogen-powered vehicles
- Cars recorded as an insurance write-off in Category A, B, S or N
- Vehicles owned by a business that sells or services motor vehicles
This is a summary of clauses 2.1 and 2.7 of our plan terms.
How we check your car
- Your registration: we look your car up with the DVSA to get its make, model, fuel type, engine size, age and MOT history.
- A few questions: your current mileage, and whether the car is used commercially, modified, imported, written off or a sports model.
- Your postcode: we check there’s an approved garage within 25 miles of you. If there isn’t one on our list yet, we’ll call you to see what we can do.
We check again when your order is placed. If we later find a car wasn’t eligible when the plan started, we end the plan and refund what you’ve paid, less the value of any visits used.
Electric and hybrid cars
Fully electric cars are eligible whatever their motor size, and get an EV service with battery and charging checks. Hybrids and plug-in hybrids are covered like petrol and diesel cars, with an engine of up to 3.0 litres. Electric and hybrid plans
